De Amistad

Group project presented by LCG, Mariana Rockwell, and Katie Addada Shlon for Clavo Siete in Mexico City, Mexico - February 7-9, 2025.

Three friends explore the significance of their relationship in a capitalist, post-colonial environment. By investigating their individual mental landscapes, they interrogate how meaning is made around value and sacredness in a competitive, diasporic society. The emphasis on self reflection and deepening knowledge is consciously chosen in an effort to increase awareness of overlapping cycles, making available the possibility of rebirth. Through our friendships, we cultivate a space that is postcolonial and radically generous; expanding outward through art as an act of resistance.
